  1. Hello, I entered for the Ludum Dare event, I have a quick question. I wanted to use GameSalad for the event but it is on my iMac… is it ok to bring Macs? Also GameSalad can output to Windows 8… but this is a paid feature… is it still possible to work with GameSalad if I don’t have that feature… but could get it if something became of the game we made? I know its just as simple as paying the licensing fee for output to Windows 8 nothing will change with the development.

This looks like it will be an awesome event, can’t wait!

    Thank you!

    • Hi Rob,
It is completely fine to bring Macs to the event. You can definitely work with game salad if that is your platform of choice. Ideally since this is a Microsoft sponsored event you will be able to push it to Windows 8 or Phone. Have you tried taking a look at Unity or Game Maker? Several groups have had success deploying to multiple platforms with those tools. Unfortunately I am not familiar with game salad.

Also note that Ludum Dare is a you bring no pre-existing code or assets with you type event. To compete you will need to build all assets from scratch at the event.

      Thanks and good luck!
